"I started as a Layout Artist at Pixar in 1997 and for the past 23 years, I have worked on thirteen feature films, numerous short films, TV specials and theme park projects. Beginning with ‘The Incredibles’ in 2004, I have been the Director of Photography for four features and - 
two theatrical shorts. As a cinematographer, I am responsible for the cinematic design of each film and leading a team of Camera and Staging Artists to photograph, compose and choreograph the staging of each scene.
A favorite of all the films I have worked on at Pixar is the short film ‘Bao’. Like Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, the film celebrates our unique culture.
For example, Filial Piety (孝 Xiào), to respect one’s parents and elderly is deeply rooted in Chinese culture. To represent that virtue, our cameras are set below Mom’s eyeline, looking up to her.
But when she is being disrespected by her son, the cameras rise above her eyeline, looking down on her.
