@RadioFreeTom You are exactly right. Perhaps a series of reality check videos will help them understand that Trump is destroying not helping their business. Think about these scenarios:

@RadioFreeTom You're worried that the guidelines your employer's adopting are going to protect you. Trump says to trust him that you are going to be safe.

the day before you return you watch the news and see what's happening at the packing plants where so many people have tested positive.

@RadioFreeTom The state ordered the clan plant to close so that I could sanitize everything and we can figure this face to make it safer. They also ordered testing and PPE.

Trump steps in and says no you have to open up immediately. The state isn't allowed to enforce its own health standards.

@RadioFreeTom OSHA announces that they will have guidelines that they will not enforce them or send inspectors to make sure the plant is operating correctly.

The companies want more guidance because they are concerned about being sued by their employees and possibly customers.

@RadioFreeTom Trump says don't worry about guys in so protecting employees, will give you complete immunity.

Do you believe Trump when he says that the workplace you are returning to will be as safe as possible? he believes that the state will be able to protect you?

@RadioFreeTom Scenario 2. You are being told to go back to work in retail store where you come into contact with customers. You are pregnant and worried that you may become ill possibly miscarry if you become she's sick. You asked what kind of protection you'll have.

@RadioFreeTom The employer says that they will give you PPE and there will be social distancing. The night before you return to work you see bars and restaurants that are supposed to respect social distancing letting in crowds of people.

@RadioFreeTom You live in a state where there are some politicians who disagree with the State standards on PPE and social distancing. You watch as one Court throws out a governor's orders leaving it completely unregulated. If you hear Trump talk his thrill at seeing nurses running into danger

@RadioFreeTom can you call the employer to ask about whether or not there will be testing available for you and other employees in case you start to feel ill. Then you hear Trump say that testing is worthless because all it does is raise the numbers of people who are sick.

@RadioFreeTom The night before work are you worried that:
-. Only people who take risks will come in and they won't wear masks?
- will you feel comfortable asking your employer to make sure that people maintain social distancing and put on masks?

@RadioFreeTom -if you feel unsafe in the store will you be able to stay home without losing your job or benefits?
-what if you can unknowingly contract infection on day 2 but are laid off on day 3 because there's no business? Will your insurance cover the cost?

If you don't return to work you lose all benefits. You are 66 years old and can't afford to be without a job or benefits? What do you do?

@RadioFreeTom Shanghai Disney's opening it's a good example of how Trump is damaging to I strong reopening.

Shanghai Disney shut down three months ago completely. They completely sanitized the property and configured it for social distancing before they reopened this week.

@RadioFreeTom They are allowed to open up to 30% capacity but are starting with smaller numbers. Everyone will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Employees will be throughout the park to make sure guests are following the rules.

@RadioFreeTom There will be thermal infrared scanners to pick up anyone who develops a fever after entering the park. People will be required to carry tractor so they could be located and contact traced immediately.

The traditional hugs given by Disney characters won't be permitted.

@RadioFreeTom Disney has come up with alternatives that are consistent with public health guidelines. They sold out.

Trump lost the bet that people people won't wear masks in public or comply with social distancing requirements. Instead, he has done everything to dismiss them as useful.

@RadioFreeTom It's not just American polling that shows that people want to feel safe. Canada has just extended the border closure until June 21st. Federal government and provinces have agreed upon guidelines for resuming day-to-day activities. That includes guidelines about reopening borders

@RadioFreeTom The guideline looks at whether the outbreak is under control. Clearly, outbreak is not under control. Before Trump and his cronies blame this on the left wing, the loudest voices to maintain the border closure came from premiers including Ontario's conservative premier

@RadioFreeTom The first infection Canada was diagnosed the same day as in the US. The rate of infection is half of us. Canadians have lived with strict travel guidelines that include 14 days of self-isolation for anyone returning from outside Canada. Interprovincial travel is limited.

@RadioFreeTom Australians are also concerned about the US response. research released by Australia slowly Institute found 80% thought their governments handle the outbreak well. Only 10% thought the US did. People want to feel safe whether they are tourists or Americans going to work.

@RadioFreeTom It will come down to perception. right now our image of what is happening in our own city is limited to what we see on television or hear from friends. That's even more true but what's happening outside your own city or town.

@RadioFreeTom It's hard to understand why Trump and the GOP think that seeing people without masks crowded together in the bar or on the beach or in front of the legislature holding guns is going to entice most Americans out of their houses.

@RadioFreeTom Is the majority of Americans wanted to take risks with their lives they wouldn't have stayed home and put up with the hardships for so long. if Americans don't care about other people first responders wouldn't be going to work and risking their lives to take care of strangers.

@RadioFreeTom Tiny minority of Americans is driving a debate about a false choice. We should start ignoring them and talk about what it will take to make people safe. Not spin, not happy talk but what will really make them safe. That's what will restart our engagement with the world.
