A/DNI Grenell announces another change - election security briefings to a range of entities will be delivered by NCSC Director Bill Evanina.

Unclear what this means for IC Election Threats Executive Shelby Pierson, who had been tapped by DNI Dan Coats to oversee that effort.
Evanina delivered a congress-wide briefing in March, after the briefing Pierson delivered in Feb to House Intel drew controversy over the analytic line she & others delivered -- that Russia had developed a 'preference' for Trump's re-election.

Pierson's February briefing is thought to have led to former A/DNI Maguire's ouster and Grenell's installment -- but she had been reassured by Grenell that he supported her position at ODNI.

According to an ODNI official, what this means is that Evanina becomes the point person charged with leading all intelligence-based threat briefings delivered to the entities listed in the announcement (candidates, campaigns and political organizations).
Evanina already had, along with officials from FBI, DHS and ODNI, delivered cyber security / threat intelligence briefings to all the campaigns in 2019.
The official said Shelby Pierson will continue working with Evanina on the intelligence mission that the executive branch carries out - so that part of her role is not expected to change. She is still the IC's election threats executive.

Officials for both the House and Senate Intel Committees acknowledge receiving phone calls from ODNI that this announcement would be made, though neither committee appears to have received a paper notification or briefing about the changes.
Burr and Warner wrote to Grenell specifying that they expected SSCI to be consulted about major organizational and/or personnel changes - not just notified

Former IC IG Atkinson issues a remarkable statement on his removal from office by Trump.

“It is hard not to think that the President’s loss of confidence in me derived from my having faithfully discharged my legal obligations as an independent and impartial Inspector General”
