Infamously according to his supporters Jeremy Corbyn won the argument. But Michel Barnier is losing it apparently. Just possibly winning or losing 'the argument' is a measure of nothing whatsoever... cc @Sime0nStylites
Are we publishing our draft UK-EU relationship text therefore to 'win the argument'? If so, with who? I fear we may again be mistaking treaty negotiation for being a member of the EU theguardian.com/politics/2020/…
Aha, publishing text so "EU member states and interested observers [who they?] can see our approach in detail".

Just to be clear about how this works the EU Commission will send to Member States the UK text accompanied by detailed explanations of why it is wrong.
But what of those "interested observers" who are going to see the text? Well, some will be the Brexit crew who will write the same old excitable stuff about UK being right. Meanwhile a few of us will actually read the detail, pointing out good and bad bits in case that matters.
There's another rumour on the grapevine, that the UK government is hoping that UK businesses (e.g. our car makers) will be persuaded to lobby their counterparts (e.g. German car makers) to lobby their governments. Hence this messaging...
Anyway back on planet reality the UK government faces the choice of deal (on broadly EU terms minus a few concessions we can choose) or no-deal (with trade, Northern Ireland etc consequences).

So it goes. But where its going no one knows... we can guess though. /end
