What Indian Political class has failed to do repeatedly is adopt a version of 'Wirtshaftwunder' - Miracle on the Rhine. We should have geared starting 1991 & then again in 1999 under ABV ( which he actually tried) to adopt the 'lewis model'../1

Dr MMS & Super PM Sonea Antonio Maino under the aegis of NAC failed to carry on his ABV's reform initiatives of creating a laying foundations of manufacturing base and herding endless stream of rural masses into urban /manufacturing labour../2

CONgress learnt too precise a lesson with failures : PVN & ABV's ability to win a mandate & started unwinding the initiatives of industrialisation & favouring the industrialists under ABV by wealth transfer to rural india. This was under MNREGA/Food bill/Loan write off../3

NaMo too learnt too precise a lesson and obsession with not losing a repeat election like ABV started the biggest wealth transfer to rural India, Almost 18 lac crores transfered through Toilet building, PMGAW, MNREGA, MUDRA..Ayushman completely ignoring the industriliast../4

During Demonetisation in a rally @narendramodi almost started a class war by asking the poor attendees of rally, " If your seth has asked you 2 convert his currency..don't return it..". It was demonisation of businessmen to the extreme without looking at reasons of black Eco../5

GOI (irrespective of party) doesn't care about industry. Politicians think that industrialists are sitting on sea of wealth & therefore the more they are harassed, the more GOI's revenues will go up. There is a basic gap in understanding economics it seems../6

Nowhere is more glaring than new taxes heaped on same 1.5% to raise more resources to splurge on rural populace for buying votes. Top slab will pay around 44.3% IT. Look at the efforts successive GOI has thrown on farm sector-Most inefficient/Unproductive thru write off/Subsidies

Industrialist is milked through abnormal power rates, freight rates, commercial rents while rural/rurban households get free/cheap power. Imagine if power bill was at par, it adds competitiveness to Indian industry, more orders, more jobs but NO. Free power to farmers../8

But barely 1.5% job providers r too small a number to impact political fortunes thru votes so they are targeted. Free power gets votes & it works.
We r saddled with pygmies masquerading as giants with no guts to ask 2 gen of rural/unemployed populace to sacrifice for nation../9

Germany did that post war - Wirtshaftwunder. Lesson learnt & implemented by Korea, Japan, China. We simply muddle along.
All my conversation with fellow BJP intellectuals end at What did ABV gain after doing so much..Important is to win.
