WHO once again bowed to Communist China and kept Taiwan out of the World Health Assembly. U.S. decisions about future funding should be made accordingly. WHO is clearly not interested in meaningful reform yet, and may be unreformable. Creation of an alternative should proceed.
There is no good argument for U.S. taxpayers to finance any organization politically dominated by the Chinese Communist Party, no matter what its nominal mission is. Every such organization must be made to choose between the U.S. and China. Let the CCP fund its own puppets.
There is no justification whatsoever for allowing the political demands of the CCP to take precedence over world health. Taiwan's exclusion from WHO puts lives at risk around the world, as does Beijing's continued membership. That situation should be remedied by reversing it.
Non-negotiable requirements for U.S. funding of WHO should include:

1. China demoted to observer status
2. Full membership for Taiwan
3. Resignation of current WHO administration
4. Replacements cannot come from any country that takes China's Belt and Road money
No other reform promises are meaningful, and at the moment WHO isn't even offering meaningless reforms. Continuing to finance a corrupt organization, instead of creating an alternative free of Communist influence, would be profoundly irresponsible and bad for world health. /end
