Just watched our first Iowa senate race primary and am now extremely excited to vote for @KimberlyforIowa this June! 😍
(Also I’m laughing that at the end of the debate the moderators said “thank you for answering our questions, I know some of them were a little pointed at times.” We love #IowaNice 😂)
.@KimberlyforIowa said our system should work like a public library and I literally fell in love 😍😍 #IAsen

@alexisalexisaaa@calliomally I heard it as “it takes 7 “contacts” (not “no’s”) before someone is ready to receive the gospel,” with the idea being we never know what good we can do/focus on member work, but can see how it would get very quickly and easily confused, esp by eager young missionaries.
@alexisalexisaaa@calliomally Like, I heard it as, “it takes 7 contacts, and you never know which one you are, so offer the gospel to everyone (but if they say no it’s okay because someone else could be the 7th one.)” Not, “knock on someone’s door 8 times until they say yes.”
@alexisalexisaaa@calliomally It was more to remind us not to pre-judge people, & to remind us it’s okay to let people go & respect their boundaries and NOT hound them if we weren’t their “7th person.” But I can see how it could be used the wrong way!
We found out last night Conor’s university is explicitly prohibiting teachers from telling their students if another student they were in class with tests positive for COVID. Which seems like.... something people should know?
I 100% believe we need to protect students’ medical privacy; teachers should take great care not to reveal the identity of the person who tested positive. But to not be allowed to tell students they’ve been exposed to a positive case seems.... very dangerous???
Instructors are also *not allowed* to move the class online after finding out a student has tested positive (and that all their other students have been potentially exposed.) They can *request* to move online, but it won’t be automatically granted.
How long do you think universities will last before going all online
How long do you think K-12 schools will last
I’m torn because “when will things become unsustainably unsafe” and “when will governments actually shut everything down” are two (unfortunately) RADICALLY different questions 🙃
Just received our copy of HOLY TROUBLEMAKERS & UNCONVENTIONAL SAINTS and I am BEYOND delighted; look at how amazing this looks 😍😍😍
It highlights the stories of women, queer & trans people, indigenous people, Black people, & others who have been left out of the story for too long, & it isn’t limited to Christian “Saints.” & it’s BEAUTIFUL.
Short, engaging, biographical stories with questions to ponder at the end.
We got our copy for free not in exchange for a review but because I emailed the author & said we’d love a copy but couldn’t afford one. If you’re able to support them, please do! holytroublemakers.com
