Mecklenburg County commissioners will receive a COVID-19 update tonight #MeckBOCC

2735 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date in Mecklenburg County, according to Gibbie Harris. 69 deaths. Meck received a truck from the state this week with PPE for long term care facilities. It is a 14 day supply #MeckBOCC
The goal is for the county to test 5% of the population in 30 days. The county is 25% to that goal. Internal audit staff and some folks from Medic will help out with contact tracing, according to Harris #MeckBOCC
Harris says the percent positives of cases have seen a slight decrease, which is a good thing. Hospitalizations are stable #meckbocc
Mecklenburg County is rolling out a new COVID-19 dashboard. It will be updated at 5 pm. It is going live tonight. Rowan County has a similar dashboard #MeckBOCC
Commissioner @PatCothamMeck asks for more information about construction workers w/ COVID. Harris says the county is seeing clusters in a number of construction sites. Most of these workers are working closely together w/out masks and social distancing #MeckBOCC

On masks- Harris says the county is working to be consistent with the governor's plan. Harris says the challenges with requiring masks are: limited supply, enforcement, medical reasons preventing wearing them, mental health reasons preventing wearing them #MeckBOCC
