Communities of color have been hardest hit by this crisis. It is irresponsible & wrong for the @USOCC to ram through a plan to weaken banks' anti-discrimination rules so Comptroller Otting can retire or race through the revolving door to Wall Street. politico.com/news/2020/05/1…
The Community Reinvestment Act was passed to stop banks from being able to deny mortgages, loans, & basic banking services to underserved communities across the country. The last thing the @USOCC should be doing is making it easier for Black & Brown families to be left behind.
Joseph Otting ran a bank that went out of its way not to serve Black & Latino communities. He had no business running the @USOCC. The agency should be focused on protecting struggling families, not undermining this critical civil rights law.
