THREAD - 1/ A few quick notes and comments based on a read-through of the newly-released Opening EC for Crossfire Hurricane. Any "unredactions" are merely my current working guesses.
2/ Page 1 - Drafted and approved by Strzok. It's a "restricted case," a "Sensitive Investigative Matter," and opened as a FARA investigation. We knew these from Horowitz. The first unredaction is the date the case was opened (compare with MYE opening serial). 
4/ The FBI's Legal Attache ("Legat") in London at the time was Brian Boetig. I thought at first it was Boetig's name redacted, but the redaction is b7E (law enforcement record), not b7C (personal privacy). Plus a person's first mention would include first and last name.
5/ Page 2 - Deputy Chief of Mission in London was Elizabeth Dibble. The phrasing for the first couple of paragraphs seem "formal" so would just be the official titles, not actual names. They also use b7E, not b7C, so I don't think actual names are used in those paragraphs.
6/ Very important to note:
7/ We know that Dibble's term ended in July 2016, so this fits. This third paragraph uses b7C AS WELL AS b7D (confidential source). Dibble tells Boetig she was called by REDACTED. Horowitz says the phrase "trusted foreign partner" is in the EC, and I theorize it's in that line.
8/ I'm also assuming the classification banner in para 3 is "AUS" for Australia, meaning the information can only be released to ("REL TO") USA and Australia. Para 4 gives background that Australians met w/ PapaD in order to start cultivating contacts should DJT win the election.
9/ Page 3 - the top para uses b7C, not b7E, so I am guessing it is "DCM Dibble" and "Legat Boetig." "Mr. Downer" doesn't seem quite formal enough, but not sure what term would go there. Skipping para 2 for now, an entire paragraph 3 is still classified as "Secret." Hmm..
10/ Paragraph 2 is very interesting, although extremely vague. Reading in tandem w/ para 1 (which began on page 2), it appears this is actually the text of reporting from Downer back to Canberra, which he then unofficially provided to Dibble. ("No official intelligence.")
11/ Additionally, reading pages 2 and 3 together really makes it seem like Downer is reporting what PapaD supposedly told Erika Thompson, not necessarily Downer himself. This would fit with the Mueller May 6/May 10 date confusion. Quite a bit of hearsay on top of hearsay.
12/ I wonder if the redacted paragraph 3 is something in the vein of "By unofficially providing copies of internal Australian intelligence comms to the US, Downer is violating laws/treaties/etc., so let's be hush-hush on this and not start some full-blown investigation." Whoops.
13/ Paragraph 4 continues the theme of my hypothesis above, contemplating next steps on how to "officially" request the information from the Aussies. Note the "b1 per DOS" exemption cited for paragraphs 3 & 4.
14/ Finally, the last para (ending on page 4) provides the official goal of the investigation: to determine if Trump associates are "witting of and/or coordinating" with Russia. Note the lack of "unwitting" which seemed to be the justification for ongoing investigation later.
15/ Again, the unredactions are my guesses, but I think the overall gist comes through. It's very clear there was a lot of "telephone" with the PapaD information, and yet Strzok immediately hops on a plane. Almost like FBI just needed a "hook" to start Crossfire. Typical. END
