Nearly a year ago we sat down with some of our lawyers and advocates and began to ask the question: How did we get here? How did the agency set up to protect us from terrorists become an armed group that terrorized the immigrant community?

What we found was a story about how fear changed America.

This 8-episode limited series event takes us from the creation of DHS to the present day, w/families separated at the border, a near-total ban on asylum, & the govt’s utter disregard for the lives of immigrants in detention centers & Mexican border camps in the midst of COVID-19.

The podcast is hosted by our advocacy chief, @ErikaAndiola, who has been fighting for her rights since she came across the border at the age of 11.

As a leader in the undocumented youth movement, she asks how she & immigrants like her became the enemy.

We've never made a podcast before. For 30+ years we've fought for immigrants in the courtroom, the streets, & the media. With so many people listening to podcasts we knew we had to reach people there too.

It's also hard to get any message through the money-controlled gladiator battle that is our modern news media. Podcasts give us the time to tell a very big truth & time for the listener to absorb.
