We need to get our history right on the USNS Comfort and the Javits Center field hospital run by the feds.
They didn't sit empty because NYC didn't need them.
They sat empty because *they refused to take covid patients*. At a time when our hospitals were overflowing.

On April 2nd, when NYC was almost at the apex, the Comfort had 20 patients. And 980 empty beds.

We remain incredibly grateful to the women and men who served in these facilities and did in the end indeed care for many NYers.
