This thread is about where we are. As @biblioracle said, if you were going to go, probably go ahead and go (with caveats about health and responsibilities). A key thing here is this: the disruption is happening to everyone.
This is VERY HARD for people to accept, especially when it comes to education. That is because our culture has so internalized opportunity hoarding as strategy. There is no individual strategy for this disruption. None.
It is happening to everyone. The shock is system-wide. You can’t invest, app, plan your way out of it because all of those strategies rely upon asymmetries that the pandemic (and our response to it) has flattened.
You won’t be able to convince a subset of middle class and upper class families of this, however. And the collective tantrums from many of those groups is as much about losing competitive advantage in rigged systems as it as about anything else.
