In the Chicago area, one man said he had to move his mother from a nursing home after she tested positive for the coronavirus. At her former nursing home, where most residents are black, at least 121 residents and employees have been infected and 24 people have died.

In East Los Angeles, a worker at a nursing home where many residents are Latino said workers were not given masks until April, well into the outbreak in the U.S. At least 83 residents and employees have contracted the coronavirus, and at least a dozen of them have died.
