I have defended police officers charged under the Computer Misuse Act, convicted and dismissed without pension for less than this.

We are entitled to far more information than we are given about judicial disciplinary decisions.
By contrast, when a barrister is disciplined a full judgment setting out all the facts is often published on the Bar Standards Board website. And rightly so. Transparency in professional discipline is important to maintaining public faith in the system.
There may well be a very good reason why this light sanction was imposed. It’s just a shame that the public are deprived of any meaningful detail.
