I’ve been a longtime fan of Senator Markey and his work — nuclear non-proliferation, net neutrality, environmentalism — but I’m realizing there are a number of issues/legislation he has led and delivered on in a BIG way that I never really knew about until I joined Team Markey.
For decades, @EdMarkey has been quietly and effectively making a *transformational* difference for people with disabilities as well as Alzheimer’s, two communities that too often live in the edges of society:

And many, many other products/services/features we now get to take for granted that allow people with disabilities to access modern telecom.

It’s already difficult to communicate, feel connected, stay in touch, and get news & info during this pandemic. Picture how much harder it would be to be navigating this with deafness or blindness, without websites or news outlets that are obligated to be accessible to you.
To borrow a phrase from the inimitable @SamDelgadoTX, Ed makes moves, not announcements.

Did you know he passed the law that led to the creation of the national plan to effectively prevent & treat Alzheimer’s by 2025, and finagled the NIH to tell Congress every year how much funding it needs to make it happen — majorly increasing research funding? A baller move.
Ever since he lost his mom to it in 1999, @EdMarkey been the national leader on the fight to cure Alz — a disease which has exploded in cases since then.
Anyway, it’s been exciting and a privilege to learn about all of this incredible work & compassionate leadership. The more I learn, the more I see the way Ed fights from the heart, & the more committed I get to re-electing him to continue everything he’s started. I can’t wait! ❤️
