E class 2-4-4-2T double-Fairlie

Not successful in operation.
E20 was cut up in 1891 one half formed a 2-4-2T tank engine F20. Other half adapted for driving machinery.
E7 sold 1885 to timber company and was scrapped in 1897

When E7 scrapped driving wheels of E 7 reused into a second tender for Coates another steam locomotive. Other parts were used to build a log hauler.

Although the working life of the Es was short they at least made it on to an Australian postage stamp issued May 1980.
