World, a place we know for life, a place we know as our existence and presence and also a medium by which you & I are managing to lead our lives "mostly" the way we want ourselves to, subjected to critics sometimes.
The world which today is being said to, have been suffering from one of the most fatal situations or existential crisis in the near future due to an unseen enemy of 21st century, maybe the biggest.
There have been some of the worst crisis to the world be it the form of, two world wars, the cold war, the revolutions for freedom or in the lust of power upon people by any means whatsoever.
The late 19th century and 20th century has seen the perfect example of them.
It was an era of darkness, it had all the elements to prove the greed, hatred, revenge and jealousy amongst leaders of world and the local leaders of the states.
The era has given us so many leaders and ideologies which has rather shaped the world we see today.
We have seen Hitler's Nazi germany, Batista's cuba, Stalins's USSR along Gandhi's non violence, Che Guevara's nationalism existing in the same axis of the world.
Taking away no credit from a man who is known to have been the most inhumane of all the possible worst world leaders is Adolf Hitler. The orator of a stature who mobilised Germany from scratch to the most influential axis power in just a matter of some years.
He is well known for all the atrocities he commited on his racially discriminated subjects and the ones coming his way.
Joseph Mengele, said as the Angel of death was his propoganda expert as a physician in the Nazi German.
He was said to have commited human experimentation on men, woman, infants and what not, taken from concentration and the labour camps to leave them in the worst possible condition.
This was not the first time GERMANY was responsible for such massacres, this date back long.
In the year 1884, German invaded the African continent and named it as 'German South West Africa'. There was a tribe called 'Herero' who then were the biggest sufferers of the German Colonial rule.
Herero are the people who are located in present day 'Namibia', who are ethnic and indigenous tribe of South African continent, in the late 18th and 17th century these were the people who were very popular with the activities related to the herds, and hence were termed herdsmen.
Before the invasion of Germans, a tribe called 'Namas' also invaded the place where Hereo's lived. They already had arms and ammunitions with themselves. Herero tribe and Namas had to fight each other in the late 18th century for establishing themselves in that place.
As soon as the Germans invaded the place, the interest of both the tribes became and the struggle between the two tribes ended and soon their motive became getting free from the colonialists. Alike all the other ones, Germans were too of same nature.
Germans started to treat the tribals as slave labours, keeping them in worst of the conditions and soon snatched away their lands from them. This saw a insurgence of hatred amongst the tribals for the Germans and this have rise to the anti-colonial feeling in the tribals.
After so many years of atrocities, Herero's decided to revolt against the Germans because the main source of their livelihood which used to be cattle were also soon taken away by the germans and were exported to Germany and its allies, or other colonies.
In the year of 1904, Hereos led by Samuel Maherero and Namas led by Hendrik Wetboi took it upon Germans but to their dismay, they were crushed and the way it was done to these tribes later became an act of 'apology' by the Germans in the UN.
There was a battle of Waterberg being fought between the two parties in 1904, on August 11. The plateau of Waterberg was on stake, german soldiers larger in numbers decided to surround the place from all the sides leaving one side which opens to the north of the VAST DESERT open.
Although fighting the military, Hereros were able to capture the Military stations without knowing the fact they wer being surrounded on all the sides by military, they were shot indiscriminately from all the sides, many of them were able to run away from north into the desert.
Entering the desert, all of the left and ran revolutionaries died of thirst and hunger and the total number of deaths were estimated to be around 80,000 to 1,00,000 of tribals.
Back in the plateau, the army led by 'Lathar Von Trotha' were able to capture many pf the tribal people who were then sent to the shark concentration camps where they suffered what we later see in the era of Adolf Hitler, there were ruthless killings and massacares.
There were human experimentations being done on people, their heads were cut into half, women were forced into sex slavery and rest remained to be the subjects to death as their time came.
In 1907, came yet another wave of revolt, where the Germans made even more horrific decisions, they captured all the male members and sent them to the concentration camps, all the women and kids were driven put of their homes and they were forced to go into the deserts.
Walking into the deserts all the women, childern died of thrist and left to stale in the deserted lands of africa.
The picture well depicts the conditions in which these tribes were pictured during the Battle of Waterberg.
All the hereors then, above the age of seven were made to wear metal disk which contained their 'Registration Numbers'.
The things came to an halt in 1918, when german empire was thrown away in WW1.l
Later in 1985, United Nations recognised this act as one of the earliest genocides in the 20th century, which took away the name of humanity.
In 2004, 100th anniversary saw the Germans apologise for this in open, still to be considered in their parliament.
In 2017, there was a case filed by Herero activist against GERMANY in USA.
Today too, Herero tribe have their existence and they are sticked to their tradition and their culture and the cattle remains their first friend.
This horn like hats signify their cattle love.
PEACE.
