Beginner's guide to #ChampManFPL:

- I can't recommend this game enough. This game is based on a simulation in Championship Manager 01/02. You don't need to play or have played Championship Manager to do well in the game. I've never played Championship Manager

(1/22)
- The teams in 01/02 are great. You'll get to pick players like Ruud, Henry, Euell, Rebrov, Shearer, etc.
- The rules are standard FPL rules with chips etc. The only big exception is that there are no price changes.
- The Gameweeks are on Wednesday and Saturday every week

(2/22)
- There is a live twitter commentary for the Gameweek on the @FantasyChampMan account. These guys love to tease and sometimes get a little sadist. Which i love.
- James from @PlanetFPLPod (assisted by @FplKaptain ) do a live Stream during the Matchdays which is..

(3/22)
.. absolute gold. He once went mental when Spurs scored the winner against Arsenal in the last minute. That alone was worth playing this game. The streams are great banter and we're all in there on most matchdays.
- The big daddy team here is definitely Man Utd.

(4/22)
- Ruud is almost essential in this game or atleast that is the perception. Personally i've done really well captaining against Ruud and just owning him.
- The other good teams are Arsenal, Leeds, Spurs and Fulham (they always attack irrespective of opposition).

(5/22)
- Boro are having an absolute stormer of a season. Dean Gordon is OOP and playing on the wings. He's back fit just yesterday.
- Leeds will potentially have 2 Double Gameweeks post Gameweek 20 so that's important for you. They are beasts at home. Viduka, Harte, Kewell,....

(6/22)
.., McPhail are all good picks.
- Bonus points are given on the basis of match ratings and MOM. Due to this, apart from goalscorers and assisters, defenders who get in a lot of Key Headers and Tackles do really well under the Bonus Point System.
- Due to this, when you..

(7/22)
..are picking your defenders, for the smaller teams, go for either bonus hoggers (Ipswich defenders are great for CS at home as well as bonus) or those that have an attacking threat. Goma and Repka are a few Bonus Hoggers.
- You can view all the stats for the game on..

(8/22)
...stats for the game one @whitebeard_fpl 's amazing website. Link is:
whitebeard.top/cmfpl2/
There are stats for overall as well as last 4 Gameweeks.
- Most important stats imo are Key Passes (for assists), Shots (for Goals), Key Headers and Tackles (for Bonus).

(9/22)
- Also keep an eye on nailed players, Average Rating (you'll get an idea of who is good for bonus) and Total Bonus points.
- All previous game data screenshots can be found on this link. Again thanks to @whitebeard_fpl for this.
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
Look at ratings.

(10/22)
- When it comes to fixtures, @BenCrellin2 has us covered with his massive fixtures sheet which include FPL style permutations and combinations. This is his separate account specifically for @FantasyChampMan .
- This is the link for Ben's sheet:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

(11/22)
- The GOAT for #ChampManFPL content is @ffscout_luke . If you're not following him, it's the first thing you should do. Lot of insight into the intricacies of the game. He's taken the understanding of the game to another level and does regular videos on the same.

(12/22)
- The most important video imo that @ffscout_luke has done is the one explaining match-ups. You can see that here.

- He's done a lot more videos which you can find on his timeline.
- He also runs a lot of simulations and posts the results.

(13/22)
- The simulations give us an idea of what you could maybe expect in the given match ups.
- We also have the amazing guys at the @FplWolfpack who do a pod every Monday night on #ChampManFPL . Can't recommend this pod enough. @FplMode and @FplIrons (perma top 10) are great

(14/22)
- We also have an @FPL_Rockstar style leak in the form of @CMScoutFPL who tries to spy his way around different grounds and give us important team leaks.
- The guys at @FantasyChampMan also do a stream every Sunday night at 9 which has loads of important team news.

(15/22)
- Other content creators who are doing a great job are:
@RichP_FPL
@FPLDougal
@CorfFpl
@MotleyBarnets
@FPL_Panda
@CraigKemp32

Apologies if i've missed out on anyone. Just add your name here. Its a tight community and you'll eventually find everyone.

(16/22)
- Some other important pointers i've missed. Don't rely too much on cleanies for cheap defenders. Look at Bonus Points. Ipswich and Boro generally good. Festa from Boro is on pens.
- Arsenal and United reliable amongst the big teams for clean sheets. Seaman is 5M only.

(17/22)
- Some names that i recommend and you should look into are Henry, Seaman, Cole, Wilcox, Stolcers, Boa Morte, Goma, Viduka, Harte, McPhail, Kewell, Hyppia, Ruud, Giggs, Becks, Veron, Silvestre, Johnston, Boksic, Festa, Gordon, Shearer, Phillips, Rebrov and Selakovic.

(18/22)
- This is a great table which is almost sort of a cheatcode given by @BenCrellin2 . Average given by him over 10 simulations.

This is great information to determine good attacks and defences.

(19/22)
- Also don't forget to look into the current premier league table on the @FantasyChampMan account here:

(20/22)
Another important tweet is the top scorer, assister and average rating so far chart which you can see here:

(21/22)
Last but not the least, can't end this thread without acknowledging the massive work that @SimpleGull_FPL , @fpl_tactician and @Jameselapren are doing to give us this amazing experience which has honestly filled a huge void for us. Cannot recommend this game enough.

(22/22)
Hope this helped. Feel free to add pointers in this thread in case i've missed anything.
Also @ffscout_luke has created a discord where all of us discuss. Here's the link.

Also we have @LetsTalk_FPL and @ffscout_luke from @FFScout doing a stream on this every week.
And lastly we need to thank @Ragtime_Willy for giving us this wonderful new website to play this game on.
