No idea what Cummings is going to say but if they are, as suggested at weekend, going to play what they refer to as ‘the trump card’ of a child’s condition, they may well create the exact opposite effect on public opinion that they seek. What we are seeing here is what happens1/2
when incompetence and venality come together. The fact that in the middle of this crisis, @BorisJohnson desperation to cling on to Cummings is reducing government to a gibbering wreck is beyond any rational belief or sense of competence 2/3
Government should be focused on track, test and trace. On helping business and families. On schools. Instead they are running around like headless chickens to save Durham Dom. And remember this - many many families have members with exceptional needs - who obeyed the rules 3/3
