My freshman history professor James Wright (a Marine in Vietnam) reminds me of LCpl Darwin Judge, 19, an Eagle Scout who arrived in Vietnam the month before he died.
And also of Corporal Charles McMahon, former Woburn MA “Boy of the Year”
* My professor corrects me: he did not serve in Vietnam. He enlisted in 1957 at age 17 and served until 1960. Was deployed to the territory of Hawaii and to Japan for backup during the Quemoy/Matsu crisis of 1958.
