1/? Please read my story about losing a beautiful little patient of mine. This is not a COVID-19 patient but I share it with you all so that you can see and feel the anguish we physicians, nurses, and others on our healthcare team feel when we fight for a life and lose.

The number of dangerous conspiracy theories and the amount of disinformation being shared right now is mind boggling. It’s mentally exhausting and so disheartening. 1/?
I wish I didn’t feel like physicians, other medical professionals, and scientists are obligated to speak out about all this nonsense and educate the public, but I do. It’s an important part of our job, unfortunately. 2/?
I have disinformation fatigue for sure, as do many others (give a shout out of solidarity below if you’re feeling it too) yet we trudge on trying to squash the nonsense and provide evidence based information. 3/?

1/? Just today a young woman posted a guy-wrenching account of her battle with meningococcemia. She advocated for the vaccine that quite literally saves lives every day. The antivaxxine cultists swarmed and spewed their hate and lies and bullied her until she deleted the post.
2/? What they do it disgusting and unacceptable. This survivor was posting her own story about her experience and was hoping to educate others so that they would not suffer as she did, and she did no ON HER OWN PAGE.
3/? Those of you who want to preach your propaganda, lies, and disinformation please keep it to your own pages and echo chambers and stop it with your mob mentality while Cyberbullying innocent people on their personal pages. It’s gross. And immature.
