1/2 This Group of temple belonging to a period from the 10th-11th century. Survaya ki Garhi (Garhi) means Fort & inside of this fort there was the Group Of Temple & Monastery (Math) fortress was built much later probably to prevent the invaders from destroying the temples.(Contd)
Cntd-: While its a small castle (garhi) complex with moat it was a Hindu monastery that taught yoga! Built by a local king for his guru Purandar & was part of a 5 such monasteries in the area. It's destroyed by local mughal chieftan & subsumed to form the current castle complex.
1/3 Among the treasure, the architecture pattern owes itself to the Kachchaphaghta style of early medieval India where theme of music , dance and demi-gods is clearly visible in the fabulous sculptures out there .

1/4 The temple is dedicated to lord Siva facing west. Its hampered due to a mosque probably constructed by Alauddin Khilji and there is an inscription found on the floor of this temple. The inscription is datable to samvata 1366 which refers the name of Khilji.
