This pose is more like that of a snake where the stomach is on the ground. It is good pose to strengthen the spine.

camel pose is very good for stretching the abdomen region, hips, and thighs. The name comes from the shape of this pose which looks like a camel with the hump.

The pose gets its name as it looks like a turtle, with their nose to the ground and the arms sticking out the bottom and the legs sticking out the top.

It is very good resting pose. Just as crocodile raise its body to walk with its limbs, this pose uses ones hand to raise the body.

This asana is called by this name because of the movement of the legs during the posture that looks like a butterfly flapping its wings. It gives flexibility to the pelvic joints.

This is done in the sitting position and the facial expression is like that of a lion. In Sanskrit, Simha means Lion - and this pose mimics the boldness of the king of the jungle and evokes the spirit as that of the animal.

It is balancing the body with one's hands. Just as the male peacock brings it's whole body parallel to the ground when it wants to make a fast run, this pose will bring the human body parallel to the groud with the support of hands.
