UPDATE: Can’t believe I’m writing this. Really had some belief Miami prosecutors would take action. But prosecutors have officially rejected release of Anthony Swain. Despite being paraplegic. COVID+. Jailed pretrial 4 years. Drug charges. Parents ready to welcome him. Brutal.
I learned Swain’s attorneys even filed a supplementary motion saying the enormous national support on Twitter & elsewhere should be considered. Specifically talked about the # of petition signatures, amount of donors to his bond fund, & @Dreamdefenders’ extraordinary advocacy.
