1/ Remember: China, Russia, and every other country we view of as anti-free-speech, have the same constitutional protections for free speech that we do.
2/ What separates us from them is that when leaders protect themselves by creative use of the law to target critics. We react against this obvious abuse of power, whereas other countries shrug their shoulders and ignore it.
3/ The problem all these countries face is the same partisanship problems we have. People are more interested in defending their party than their principles. Republicans aren't going to defend free speech when it means going against Trump.
4/ Most Democrats aren't really concerned about the principle of free speech either, and only will appear to defend it here because Trump is their enemy.
5/ Trump's executive order starts with a lie. The Founding Fathers did not seek to protect free speech. They sought to defend free speech FROM INFRINGEMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. 
6/ The bedrock principle of American democracy is one of limited government, defending rights from infringement by the government.
Europeans have the opposite principle, where rights are something protected by the government.

7/ Sure, Facebook/Twitter have problematic censorship, but the bedrock principle of American democracy is that the government can't do anything about it. Trying to fix this violates the First Amendment rather than upholding it.
8/ Sure, Republicans have legitimate concerns about ballot harvesting and and other vote-by-mail problems. However, Trump's over-the-top claim that it's been rife with fraud is wholly unsubstantiated.
9/ Trump lied, Twitter called him out on his lie, and now he's using the entire weight of the government to fight back.
