The tragedy in Minneapolis is not so different from what happened in Falcon Heights MN in 2016. A former city council member after Philando Castile was murdered admitted on the record to knowing about police racial profiling but not asking questions or speaking up.
Silence kills.
"feels shame and responsibility as a person with white privilege. She had known when she was on the council that there was a problem with racial profiling. She has the responsibility to ask questions and to get these answers, but she didn’t do it when she was on the council."
The point is that this happened before in the Twin Cities.
Falcon Heights City Council members and other politicians knew about racial profiling, did not ask questions, and did not speak up.
Philando Castile was murdered in 2016.
In 2020 George Floyd.
