Failure is a very expensive way to learn.

But exposure to failure is enough to learn the same lessons. You don’t need to actually fail.

Don’t let the narrative of failure is a good teacher influence you. Study your opportunities carefully, and then go for the low hanging fruit.
Don’t bother studying other people’s failures, either. Just focus on your successes. Study that’s working for you, what’s repeatable, what’s going okay but can be improved, etc. Choose your projects carefully, and go in with a small bet. Ignore the rest.
If I had listened to all the failure stories concluding that it’s impossible to make money selling to developers, and that information wants to be free, I wouldn’t have made $160K in profit selling information products to developers in the last 5 months.
