Important. Trump's covid response has cratered his polling in certain demographics. But now he's taking political advantage of the fear invoked in some whites of images of blacks burning down a police station and vandalizing/looting. He'll use that fear to motivate his voters.
I think it's important for Democrats to not allow themselves to be portrayed as "anti-police" because that's exactly what RW pundits will be doing.
All people across the political spectrum should be outraged that George Floyd was murdered by a police officer.
AND
None of us should excuse protestors who force police to flee their own precinct, leaving rioters to burn the station to the ground.

We should not allow politicians and political pundits to set up a narrative like this:
Rioters/protestors = Democrats
Police = Republicans
Because THEY WILL TRY. And Democrats WILL LOSE.
