Not police killings and protests
Not 100,000 COVID deaths
This is very lame attempt at distraction.
Cutting off funds to WHO. Because...China allowed people to travel?
He's going to cut off Wall Street from China?
He's mad about how China is treating Hong Kong and so will take this out on Hong Kong? (Not just the PRC but...)
Well...that is not unimportant but also nowhere near what most Americans care about. Also feels like it's abandoning the people of Hong Kong to their fate at the hands of the PRC.

Hope I'm wrong.
Bottom line: Trump needs an enemy. He's not sure how to play Minneapolis (though I'm sure he'll flame hate). And the "invisible enemy" doesn't cut it/he is bored with it.

So China it is.

And we retreat further from the world stage.

That's chump change for a problem you largely had a hand in fueling.
I have zero patience for social media companies or their employees that pay lip service to social justice and diversity and do not force change in their own C-suites.
Social media companies have:
*let hate flourish on their platforms
*promoted extremism into ALL of our feees
*stolen the revenue from legit media effots
*done next to nothing to address any of these problems except dole out some swag and conferences.

Feels like a @bellingcat-type effort could ID this cop, and the one who brutally attacked the woman in NYC, if that hasn't happened already
Also feels like a rather obvious bit of police reform would be to require that they wear their badge number very prominently, at all times. Like emblazoned across their chest. Accountability and visibility helps.

Also de-escalation training. Where that's happened, it's helped.
This NYC assembly woman who was pepper sprayed for no reason did catch the badge number of the cop who did it.
