White women who think the cops are “protectors” need to wake the fuck up. You are fine throwing Black men and women under the bus because you think the cops are on your side. But just wait until you have to report a sexual assault, or until your cop husband beats you.
I’ve had to report a rape and make a domestic violence call. The police are not on your side. They belittle you, assume you’re lying, humiliate you. I watched a cop laugh and tell my sobbing friend to “calm down” and openly take her abusive ex’s side.
I wasted a year of my life trying to get justice for my rape and it was traumatizing and ultimately the police and the prosecutor just didn’t think it was worth it to help me. That’s the story for the vast majority of rape victims.
Something like 40% of cops commit domestic violence at some point. And what happens then? All their buddies band together to defend him and make it clear to her that she has no options and if she tries to come forward she’ll be painted as a lying whore.
You’re a fucking fool thinking that the police are there to protect you. Stand up for your Black brothers and sisters who are being murdered, raped, & beaten at the hands of the police. They are bearing the brunt of a system that will turn on you at any moment, too.
