So yes. Say the name of #GeorgeFloyd but also say the names of Nathan Reynolds, Patrick Fisher, Rebecca Maher, David Dungay, Mark Edward Mason... just some of those from NSW on this unacceptable list of aboriginal and torres strait islander deaths in custody...
The chant ringing in my head: "They say accident, we say murder". This isn't just a US problem, it is a global problem, it is a serious problem in Australia. It is systemic racism, it is white supremacy, it is police brutality and unchecked power that leads to these murders...
And if you are white, start doing some heavy lifting - don't shed white tears but instead start learning how to keep your fragility in check and to check your privilege, step back to let diverse voices speak and take your seat at the table, and above all DON'T BE A RACIST
