It’s a good time to re-read @drlisadcook @TrevonDLogan and @jmparman 's work on lynchings or Trevon’s work on the importance of Black politicians or @SandyDarity ‘s work on racial wealth gaps
and to remember the evidence that African American’s typically bear a bigger burden during recessions and are bearing much more of the risks of essential work.
The anger out there is directly about violence and a lack of respect and safety, but it connects to the inequality of wealth and opportunity that runs through our economy, which is very much in our lane as economists.
And thanks to @itsafronomics who has already done more than her fair share for the profession with her work with the Sadie Collective for calling us all out today.
