i built a tool for quickly scrubbing metadata from images and selectively blurring faces and identifiable features. it runs on a phone or computer, and doesn't send info anywhere.

process your images so that you and others are safe:

everestpipkin.github.io/image-scrubber/
(also - i built this in about 24 hours and the code is /messy/- i'll keep fixing it and cleaning things up, but i'm actively soliciting bug reports ! especially if you're on android)
some updates: the paint tool is in, and a rectangle tool, erase/undo, and some general interface improvements and bug fixes are coming tomorrow after I get some rest. stay safe, and stay strong
i'm working on a pixelization & shuffling filter that runs before the blur for increased security of blurred images - should be live by tonight
continuing to make improvements- there are now two additional layers of security (pixelate + noise) before the blur, and well as an undo brush and general layout fixes.

i'm publishing as i build things so please let me know if anything breaks for your devices! thank you all
btw, code is open source on github if anyone wants to fork or review - its still pretty messy as i'm moving fast but its readable: github.com/everestpipkin/…
i've pushed an update with one more security layer to the blur. i don't think there is a capacity to reverse it at this point, but I want to make sure. if you're a neural net or computer vision person, can you please try to unblur these images? a very blurry mountaina very blurry animal crossing screenshota very blurry meme imagea very blurry person in front of a tree
sample images are in this folder also, to avoid twitter compression: github.com/everestpipkin/…
