You can never stay neutral over injustice, if you really want to fight racism in the USA & fight for justice, then why not start with where you live? Remember the name of #ShekuBayoh who died in police custody on 3rd May 2015 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland
What excuses were made & why are black men here never deemed worthy victims? Criminalised & stereotyped in the aftermath of their death-Sheku a knife wielding black man who attacked officers who had to defend themselves after being attacked first? LIES irr.org.uk/news/spinning-…
The dead cannot cry out for justice but it is the duty of the living to do so for them, for over 5 years the Bayoh’s fought for truth & justice only to be told not a single charge would be faced by any of the 9 detaining police officers google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dail…
There have been over 3000 deaths in custody in the UK since 1969 but since then despite much evidence of unreasonable force, abuse of power, unlawful killing not one police officer has been tried & successfully prosecuted for homicide
Some of the most high profile Black victims of police brutality, police neglect, and gross misconduct by the police include: David Oluwale (1969), the first known Black person to have died in police custody in the UK; Cherry Groce (1985); Joy Gardner (1993);
Stephen Lawrence (1993); Christopher Alder (1998); Roger Sylvester (1999); Azelle Rodney (2005); Frank Ogboru (2006); Sean Rigg (2008); Jimmy Mubenga (2010); David “Smiley Culture” Emmanuel (2011); Mark Duggan (2011); Kingsley Burrell (2011); Anthony Grainger (2012);
Sheku Bayoh (2015). In the case of Stephen Lawrence, it took over 20 yrs of campaigning to bring his killers to justice after the police obstructed the course of justice, in Scotland 17 years to bring the racist killer of Surjit Singh Chhokar to justice
Even when officers are accused of killing they often continue to work on with full pay, automatically access public funding, use the media to prepare their defence to leak smears & to criminalise the dead. But what of the families of victims for whom there is no justice,no peace?
They are denied automatic access to legal aid, obstructed in their search for the truth, suffer the indignity & injustice of former police officers being involved & leading the investigation, face media and police ‘demonisation’ - these families are part of the same struggle
The Public Inquiry that will now take place into the death in custody of #ShekuBayoh must hold the police to account, examine racism & be truly robust if it is to mean anything sundaypost.com/fp/were-worn-d…
The last 5 years the Bayoh family in the midst of their grief have had to campaign for justice, whilst Sheku Bayoh was smeared in his death, but did the system really think Sheku’s life was so cheap they would simply walk away quietly? #GeorgeFloyd#ShekuBayoh#BlackLivesMatter

🧵1/21 Crushing defeat for @RishiSunak on Suella & Priti’s cruel flagship policy-Supreme Court rules unanimously UK Govt.’s inhumane policy of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda ‘UNLAWFUL’- not just ECHR but a no. of international treaties apply-a summary👇
🧵2/21 This Government is not above the rule of international law, as the Supreme Court unanimously dismisses the Home Secretary's appeal & upholds the Court of Appeal's conclusion that the Rwanda policy is unlawful. supremecourt.uk/cases/uksc-202…
🧵3/21-This is because there are substantial grounds for believing that asylum seekers would face a real risk of ill-treatment by reason of refoulement to their country of origin if they were removed to Rwanda.
🧵1/8 Canada’s Parliament along with Trudeau & Zelensky gave a standing ovation to Yaroslav Hunka, a Ukrainian because he fought against the Russians in WW2, but he’d served in the Nazi’s Ukrainian 14th Waffen, aka SS Galincha. implicated in the mass murder of Jews & others
🧵2/8 Formed in 1943, SS Galichina was recruited from Galicia region in Ukraine. The unit was armed & trained by the Nazis commanded by German officers. In 1944, the division was visited by SS head Heinrich Himmler, who spoke of the soldiers’ “willingness to slaughter Poles.”
🧵3/8 Three months earlier, SS Galichina subunits perpetrated what is known as the Huta Pieniacka massacre, burning 500 to 1,000 Polish villagers alive. The town was razed to the ground and most of its inhabitants were murdered, including many young children.
1/14 -🧵🪡 on the outrage over Sean Hogg, 21, who raped girl, 13, in park freed from court after judge considered him too young to be jailed & imposed 270 hours community service- but sentence guidelines for young people don’t stop custodial sentences👇lbc.co.uk/news/man-who-r…
3/14🧵-A spokesperson for the Crown Office said: "As with all cases, the Crown will consider the sentence and give consideration to whether it might be unduly lenient."
1/5 🧵Queen not even buried, but Charles appoints disgraced Prince Andrew as Counsellor of State to stand in for him if he’s ill or out of UK- he was friends with rapist sex trafficker Epstein & settled a sexual assault case with £12M of our money -but don’t criticise the 👑?
2/5 Remember in 2021 we were told that Charles opposed Andrew’s return- what happened? I wait to hear what the fervent Royalists have to say about this ‘man’ being a defacto head of state🤴🏻🇬🇧 marieclaire.co.uk/royal-news/pri…
3/5 Andrew’s sister Princess Anne is not allowed because under the Regency Act 1937 male heirs had 1st right to the throne over females – a rule known as male royal primogeniture.
1/13 Put bluntly the most senior Judges in Scotland have delivered @scotgov a devastating indictment on its consultation on Legal Services Regulation Reform- essentially accusing 🏴Govt of interference with the rule of law & an independent judiciary judiciary.scot/home/media-inf…
2/13- “The foundation of our democracy is the rule of law & ..the separation of powers. An independent legal profession & ..judiciary, is central to the operation of the rule of law; the protection of the public from the arbitrary abuse of power by the state depends upon it”
3/13- “It is of grave concern that this consultation fails to recognise suitably the constitutional importance of the Lord President and the Court of Session’s role in regulating the legal profession.”
1/14 -a thread - Three years ago today, the body of a 16-year-old child was found hanging in his cell at Polmont, some 72 hours after he arrived there on remand. His name was #WilliamLindsay 💔
2/14- On the 4 Oct 2018 William was sent to prison by our courts because our criminal justice system could not find a children’s secure unit place & the desperate concerns of his social workers went ignored.
3/14William was in & out of care since the age of 3, he had multiple placements, and resided in secure accommodation, self-harming since the age of 8, considered a high risk of suicide from the age of 13 & had on several occasions attempted to take his own life.
