Jadon Sancho scores a simple tap-in for Borussia Dortmund - and reveals a "Justice for George" yellow t-shirt (getting a yellow card for doing so). The BT Sport commentators approve of him "bringing some attention that desperately needs it - a case that has shocked America"
England international Jadon Sancho reveals a "Justice for George Floyd" t-shirt after scoring a goal for Borussia Dortmund in Germany today.
A number of the opposing Paderborn players appeared to argue against Sancho's yellow card with the referee.

The English commentators [BT Sport], who say that they approve of the political gesture, say that the booking "is the letter of the law" & guess Sancho won't mind that
It was Owen Hargreaves who said "He won't care about the booking, it's about bringing some attention to something that desperately needs it". The former England international is an expert co-commentator alongside Paul Dempsey on BT Sport today.
Jadon Sancho has now scored a second (without getting booked again) to put Dortmund 3-1 up, after a Paderborn penalty narrowed the lead.
Jadon Sancho completes his second-half hat-trick as Borussia Dortmund go 6-1 up in the Bundesliga at Paderborn. This was his statement after his first goal.
Dortmund team-mate Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan international on loan from Real Madrid, joined Jadon Sancho in revealing a message about George Floyd, after scoring the 4th goal, and on the final whistle.
Sancho's second goal was his best goal today
Jadon Sancho's message is shared and endorsed by his club, Borussia Dortmund.

Interesting example of how sports clubs can influence social norms. (Dortmund have 440k followers). The club sees support for its players' statement as a mainstream/universal anti-racism & human rights message (not as political message that is too contentious/polarising to share)
The US domestic context may be different (more polarised) than international perspectives. Response killing likely to generate a v.broad consensus across UK & European civic institutions (education, faith, sport) and much (but not all) of mainstream European politics & media.
In UK & Europe, I suspect "Black Lives Matter" is largely read as a "Racism is Bad" statement.

Broadly approved, except by those with q.strong racial grievances.

At same time, less familiar term & less known movement than in US ("All lives matter" counter-slogan v.little known)
This comment has been attributed to the referee. (I haven't been able to verify it from a news site)
Liverpool sharing this team picture & messages from several players @LFC exemplifies this
Liverpool FC have tweeted the picture and the Black Lives Matter hashtag, as a club, as well as retweeting about 10 players doing so.
These symbolic gestures from football players & clubs do not appear contentious to many.

A contrast with Colin Kaepernick, who lost his NFL career after his kneeling during the national anthem became such a cultural and political flashpoint in 2016-17
