Curfew imposed at 8PM to 6AM for the entire city of Omaha.

Public place is outdoor space on public or private accessible to general public. Max fine of $500. Prison time of max of 6 months.

The two largest cities have seen criminal behavior, violence and destruction of property. Peaceful protestors-we hear you. We will continue to build trust. Lives have been put in danger.

@OmahaPolice @GovRicketts @Jean_Stothert @NENationalGuard Chief of Police Todd Schmaderer: This was one the longest nights the city has ever had. We had shootings, assaults. Molotov cocktails were thrown in the Old Market. A white male from a city out of Nebraska was arrested.
51 arrests. Majority were white suspects.

Grew from 500-4000. Protests moved from 72 and Dodge to downtown. Officers working 12 hours shifts.

Joe Kelley from US Attorney Office: will prosecute if anyone violates federal law. Such as crossing state lines to commit a crime of violence.

Mayor on same topic: We haven't had a curfew since Morgan was Mayor. Curfew MUST be for entire city. Can only do for 72 hours with a state of emergency.

Mayor says everyone agrees on justice for George Floyd. A lot of this violence is not from Omahans. What happened in Minnesota was terrible but violence is not justice.

@OmahaPolice @GovRicketts @Jean_Stothert @NENationalGuard @FBIOmaha Unlawful assembly was deemed because of reports of guns, rocks being thrown, bottles being thrown, etc. We are not perfect. We gave everywhere avenue possible to have a peaceful protest. If it remained peaceful, it could have gone on as long as they wanted.
