#BostonProtests My experience: For about 95% of the protest is was non-violent. We marched from Nubian(Dudley) square all the way to the statehouse and Boston Commons. Near the end of the protest, we gathered in the commons to chant and dance to spread awareness of BLM...
It was until people started running and screaming from the south side of the commons that there was some sort of "chemical" being dispersed by the drones that followed us throughout the protest. From here, everything fell into shambles. Our peaceful protest was interrupted...
Boston Police Department(BPD) had a motorcade run through to block off Winter street and set up blockades near Downtown Crossing. Some of our white counter-parts threw harmless trash but some threw frozen water bottles...
At this point, BPD has had enough. They ordered MBTA officials to lock the common's red and green line train doors to prevent protestors from escaping and fleeing another way. BPD had hidden vehicles in the common's garage with a team packed full with riot gear and equipped with
large batons, pepper spray, tear gas, and rubber bullets. The National Guard was also in attendance without warning because they had already been here for COVID relief; thus, the National Guard could use LETHAL force at any means if things escalated too quickly. To make matters
worse, ICE was also in attendance snatching and handcuffing people in hopes that they would catch undocumented immigrants. BPD was ready to fight back. They fired tear gas into the crowd as well as rubber bullets forcing people to disperse. Things only deescalated when we were...
