YOUR EXCUSES SUCK...

Is it possible to make $200,000 a year as a freelance copywriter?
Absolutely!

Eventually, you'll have more business than you can handle -- repeat business from satisfied clients as well as word-of-mouth business from marketers who have heard great things
about you. But at first, as with any profession, you've got to do more than hang up your shingle and wait for the phone to ring. You've got to make yourself known to the people out there who desperately need
your services.I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
@RyanHolmerr has told you enough of that.

But maybe you're a little unsure of your ability to do that.
Maybe you're feeling a little uneasy
because there are so many "unknowns" staring you in the face right now. Chances are, there are dozens of questions running through your
head. Questions that are keeping
you from getting out there and selling yourself with confidence. Questions that all new copywriters
have:
"How do I go about selling myself through cold emails … or over the phone … or with a display
ad … or on the Web?"
"How should
I approach a company when I know I can write better copy than they're currently using?"
"How do I build a portfolio? And what do I do in the meantime when a prospect wants to see samples of my work?"
"How much should I charge? What do I need to know about royalties?"
Given time and experience, you'll know all the answers. But why learn the hard way when I can
give you the answers -- right now.

Q: How do I get confidence in my work -- enough so that I can go out and get clients? I am still a copywriting student and feel that I have grabbed
a tiger by the tail. Afraid to let go and afraid to hold on.

A: I am the least self-confident person you would ever want to meet -- so if I can do it, you can do
it too. Entire books and tweets have been written by some coaches like @ronaldnzimora and @toyinomotoso
about how to sell yourself or your products, but here are my quick tips:

1. Work very hard to get good at your craft. Be a total student of a mentor. Be intentional with your goals.
2. Do the best job you can on every assignment. Put twice as much effort into the work as you
4. Find another student or writer who can be your "copy buddy." To get a second opinion, you read
each other's work before you send it to the client. This gives you greater confidence in the copy you
submit.
