Just checking why yesterday’s slide said 38,489 cumulative deaths, and today’s says 39,045, an increase of 556... but the daily number is 111... would appear there has been some revisions...

445 extra deaths in England previously not attributed to Covid have been... BUT they havent been added to the pre June 1st blue bars on chart... or the rolling average... Thanks James...

related to pillar 2 testing - ie outside health service, including mail in option..so more previously uncounted covid tested deaths in past 5 weeks...
rather large discrepancy - and historical data not updated... so compared to what we knew yday 556 more deaths cumulatively
Meanwhile - @UKStatsAuth the UK Stats Authority Chair Sir David Norgrove has written a letter re testing statistics saying “limited value” and aim seems to be showing “largest possible number of tests” - ouch.

“It’s also hard to believe the statistics work to support the testing programme itself” UK Stats Authority full letter to Health Secretary...
