cuomo just asked when was the last time you saw the american military deployed against american citizens. burnett says 1807.

lets try wounded knee in 73 and and standing rock in 2016.

the way this country forgets what it does to native people is fucking remarkable.
this is as viral as ill ever get so: ndns who dont talk the end of blood quantum laws and the full restoration of sovereignty to indigenous nations are avoiding *the overriding* issues for native people today for the sake of likes and airtime, aka white-people attention. period.
ndns like me call people like that public indians. cause you know, the nearest mic is more important than the nation that gives them their identity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #sorrynotsorry #realtalk #restoreindigenoussovereignty
re: reminders of rodney king and other moments, im fully aware of my tweets partiality. my point was: the US military in all its forms has been used against ndns since the very beginning. in fact developed its core identity in relation to conflict with indigenous *nations*.
for those saying wasnt that only the NG, yes but...sorry, from a native POV theres not really a difference between NG/army/reserves when they’re armed reps of the federal gov pointing guns etc at you in order to control you/prevent you from defending land & tribal governance.
its military action, plain & simple. bc the feds make a particular distinction doesnt mean we get to say “well that wasnt military action against x tribe, it was just the NG.” i get those moments were not under the insurrection act but...you get it rite?
also i get that cuomo was making a political point but im making a different kind of political point. and that point is...im awesome and come from the best tribe.

and now i will tweet no more forever till tomorrow. 👣
