We’ve been watching the collapse of the US in slow motion for 3.5 years.

Sarah Kendzior (and I) have been saying this the entire time.

I predicted this would happen when Trump was acquitted in February of Impeacment. At that moment he became a dictator.

Living in reality is difficult. It means facing your darkest fears and standing up to them.

I don’t fool myself with unrealistic hope. That doesn’t mean I’m hopeless. I’m pragmatic and accept the truth.

For 3 years I’ve been saying Trump, and by association, Kenney, Ford, Moe, Pallister and Scheer are fascists. Warning we need to band together and stop them.

Hope is a double edged sword. We need hope to carry on. But many use false hope to delude themselves and deny reality.

What we want isn’t reality. We need to act to achieve outcomes.

@MgS_2011 I’ve written extensively linking the key beliefs and values of American Republicans and Canadian Conservatives. They are more alike than different. Many of their beliefs are exactly the same.

The violence we are witnessing in US could very easily become a Canadian reality.

@MgS_2011 It very nearly did in February 2020. How many conservatives were calling for police to use force to remove Indigenous protesters? How many called for PM to bring in armed forces? What is Trump threatening today? To use heavily armed US military against US citizens.

That’s the goal of the anarcho-capitalist. Chaos, removal of law and order. So they can steal, cheat and dominate with impunity.

Look at Alberta oil industry. Small and medium oil and gas companies are going bankrupt. Large multinational corporations, some of them owned directly by adversarial foreign states, buy these companies at bargain prices.

Vulture capitalism is anarcho-capitalism. Vultures circle above and wait for death. Then they swoop in for big rewards. Never having to put effort into obtaining their own hunt.
