I've said this before, but for all the people who believe you definitely would have been abolitionists in the era of slavery, who you are today is who you would have been then. You don't need to imagine scenarios of living in the 19th century, there's work to do here and now.
There are people who think they would have been members of the Underground Railroad in 1850, who show up to school board meetings today protesting school integration efforts, who support exclusionary zoning in their communities, and who block efforts of getting rid of cash bail.
It's easy to look back at the past and say what you would have done, it's harder to look at the present and say what you're going to do.
