@ShreehariK before Karnataka HC was listed today before the bench comprising Hon. Chief Justice Abhay Srinivas Oka & Justice Vishwajith Shetty. Govt stated that over 80-90% of the Temples have received the Tasdik Amt of Rs.12,000
2. @ShreehariK stated that the Fund has to move from Finance Dept - DC Office- Tahsildar - Temple A/c - Archaka, so he can't comment on veracity of the 90% claim by Govt although information from Archakas is that no money is received as yet.
3. The Govt. further stated that 18,347 Archakas have received ration kits out of ~34,200. @ShreehariK submitted that this only means half archakas have been given kits, despite the fact that it's been almost a month since it's were announced.
4. AG stated that not all Archakas would need relief as they may be pursuing other vocations. @ShreehariK stated that some Archakas may have other vocations, but many do not. And during lockdown, as Archakas spent money out of pocket, therefore they must be compensated.
5. The AG further stated that Govt is considering opening Temples from 08/June. CJ remarked that opening of temples may help the Archakas in earning some income. @ShreehariK submitted that while it true for urban temples, it is not so for most of the rural area temples.
6. @Shreehari once again requested that Govt must release monetary relief for Archakas. The Court remarked that opening of temples is likely to help the Archakas.
7. The CJ has directed Govt to file a statement on how many temples have received the Rs.12,000/- from Govt and further directed Govt to file a stmt on no. of Archakas to whom ration kits have been distributed. Next date of hearing is fixed on 10/June.
