1. We had filed an SLP in Hon'ble Supreme Court challenging the order of Madras High Court which validated the presence of Executive Officers of @tnhrcedept in 50 prominent temples of Tamil Nadu. 2. Today the petition came up for hearing before the Supreme Court bench comprising Hon'ble CJI DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha.

On Friday the petition filed by our president @trramesh against the opening of Arts and Science colleges in temple lands using temple funds came up for hearing before the Madras High Court bench of Justice R Mahadevan and Justice PD Audikeshavulu 2. The petition states that since the temples funding such colleges are being managed by fit persons, who are not entitled to make policy decisions, in the absence of trustees, such a transfer of land possessions and funds is illegal.

The DMK government had violated the rights of the traditional archakas and had tried to undermine the temples by inserting Dravidianist elements as archakas and other staff members

By the afternoon of May 4, 2021, all queries raised by the SC Registry were addressed and cleared. 2. We filed a request as per procedure to list the matter urgently citing the situation in Bengal. If that is so, it is hardly a step forward, given that some "saints and scholars" are already a part of TNHRCE albeit in an advisory role. 2. Govt stated that over 80-90% of the Temples have received the Tasdik Amt of Rs.12,000 2. @ShreehariK stated that the Fund has to move from Finance Dept - DC Office- Tahsildar - Temple A/c - Archaka, so he can't comment on veracity of the 90% claim by Govt although information from Archakas is that no money is received as yet.

The Hearing in the matter of PIL filed by our Trustee @ShreehariK seeking relief to the Archakas came up for hearing today before the Karnataka HC Bench consisting of Chief Justice Abhay Sreenivas Oka and Justice Krishna Bhat. 2. Mr. Shekhar Naphde, Senior Counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu, is responding to the suggestions of the Union. Mr. Naphde submits that he finds it rather surprising and mysterious that the Union did not consult FRDC before making the suggestions for further regulation.
