The processions, the kneeling, the corporate auto-da-fé, all signal that vast swathes of our citizenry have enshrined the myth of unequal police violence toward unarmed Black Americans as a new civic religion. Unless a brave institution puts it foot down, inquisitions are next.
The fate of this decade hinges on whether or not President Trump/the WH/the GOP/FNC will provide a competing factual narrative to counter the sheer volume of falsehoods. A thousand secular indoct prayer services will be held this week in offices, video calls. Who will speak up?
