1/ This nicely captures many of my qualms. There seems to be 100x more effort put into searching one's inner soul for some hidden core of racism than, say, deciding to put one's kids in a less segregated school, or to move entirely. Don't get me wrong -- I don't think individual
2/ action/consciousness-raising is a complete dead-end versus structural reforms. But if you WERE going to focus all your effort on liberal white people, why in God's name would it be on their fragility/microaggressions rather than where they choose to live and school their kids?
3/ You have bougie white people virtually rending their clothes trying to prove how pained they are by their own inner racism. But it's 100% recreational. It's bullshit and it needs to be called out. Donating $25 to a bail fund does more good than reading the latest fad book.
