The Attorney General is a liar. Her tweet was clear, as was its meaning. If a barrister acted with such dishonesty in court, they would likely be reported to the Bar Standards Board.
“I’m sorry. I recognise that it was inappropriate to comment, let alone express a legal opinion, on prospective criminal proceedings. I take the role of Attorney General seriously, and apologise for putting partisan politics ahead of my constitutional responsibilities.”

This was the comment by Lord Chancellor @RobertBuckland. Compare and contrast with the Attorney General’s partisan cheerleading:
TODAY: “There was no question whatsoever of my having provided any public legal view on the matter”

23 MAY: The AG approvingly retweets a statement from No.10 expressing belief that Cummings acted “responsibly & legally”, calling him “a good parent”.

I don’t use “liar” lightly.
