More fencing going up around the White House complex early this morning
In addition to the new fencing, which now extends past the EEOB down 17th Street, @abdallahCNN reports that additional concrete barriers have been installed behind existing fencing at 17th and Pennsylvania Ave. NW
A few hours later, new fencing now extends down 17th street from the EEOB to Constitution Avenue

UPDATE: In a new statement this evening, @secretservice says the fencing will remain up and the area around the White House (Lafayette Park, Pennsylvania Ave between 15th and 17th) will be closed until next Wednesday, June 10

POTUS said he’s planning to meet with UK PM Boris Johnson during this trip but declined to share his thoughts on forthcoming elections. Asked why he’s staying out of the UK election, Trump said, “I don’t want to complicate it.”
Trump called Macron’s comments that NATO is brain dead “very insulting” and “very disrespectful.”
“It’s a tough statement... very, very nasty statement,” Trump said of Macron, citing high unemployment in France and forthcoming tariffs and “what’s happened with the yellow vests.”

Sr admin officials wouldn't provide timing details on VP Pence + ntl security adviser Robert O’Brien’s forthcoming trip to Ankara, Turkey, telling reporters on a call, “This was late breaking news this afternoon. We didn’t think it was possible a couple of hours ago, now we do.”
Officials disputed that the crisis was created by Trump’s actions in withdrawing US troops from NE Syria.“This is not something that was caused by an action of Pres. Trump. This was something that was caused by an action of Pres. Erdogan…The US in no way endorsed this activity."
“The forces that the Secretary withdrew from the Northeast, the dozens of forces, were in an area that was 40 km long + 30 km deep. The idea that somehow these couple dozen forces would somehow be in a position to stop an invading army is just not logical," an official said.
