A thread on what every capable, sane, mature Muslim should learn... 👇
*Some things mentioned are Fard ul ayn, meaning it's an obligation on the individual to learn it.

Some things mentioned I suggest every Muslim should have a good go at.
1) Aqeedah with rational proofs. This is Fard ul ayn. We shouldn't be Muslim's just because we were born into Muslim families, we should have proof and evidence for our religion so we have a strong conviction in what we believe...
The book I suggest is 'The essential Islamic creed'. The English is not difficult and it has the rational proofs inside it. You should try to memorise the key points in this book.

If you have difficulty in understanding the book, Shaykh Asrar explains it on YouTube -
2) Tajweed. Again this is Fard ul ayn. We read salaah on a daily basis, so it is imperative on everyone to correct their recitation so their salaah is accepted. A basic book of Tajweed should suffice with a teacher who actually knows tajweed.
3) Certain areas of fiqh. Again, Fard ul ayn. We should all know how to read salaah, how to do wudu, the rulings regarding fasting and zakaah and how to do hajj etc... this is all fard upon an individual. If you are involved in business, then fiqh of business will be fard also...
A book that covers day to day fiqh issues is 'islamic way of worship' by Jamia al karam. There maybe more books but I suggest this one because I have it myself.

4) Purification of the heart. This is fard ul ayn. Removing blameworthy characteristics from the heart is fard ul ayn. Characteristics such as
- Showing off
- Miserliness
- Hatred
Etc...
A book that I suggest you should get is 'purification of the heart'.

The English is a little challenging but you should be fine.
If you have any good books/lectures regarding the above topics don't be afraid to share. :)
As for something I suggest every Muslim should have a good go at is...

Arabic grammar. Sarf and Nahw.
It sounds scary to most people but it really isn't. Don't get me wrong most will struggle at the beginning but if you persevere through the beginning stages, you will see success.

إن شاء الله
Arabic classes are abundant nowadays. Don't be afraid to sign up to one which has an experienced teacher and a good, structured syllabus. Have a good go, I genuinely believe every Muslim is capable IF they put their mind to it.
Due to the virus, there isn't much available but one thing I suggest you do is learn arabic vocabulary. As shown by many studies, learning vocabulary 1st helps a lot. So learn Arabic vocabulary, this will help you a lot when you start Arabic grammar, no doubt about it.
'The only failure is not trying'. 😀

Allah knows best.
